The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is looking for a matatu driver who was fired by a matatu Sacco for reporting students who were smoking bhang and drinking alcohol inside his vehicle while proceeding to Nairobi from Nyeri for the midterm break.

Reports indicate that Mr John Muthoni working with the 2NK Sacco, drove to nearby Sagana Police station after the drunk students turned violent.

On realizing his intent, the students jumped through the window of the moving vehicle and fled before the driver arrived at the reporting desk at the Police station.

The driver would the following day be sacked by the Sacco’s management for reporting the incident.

“Muthoni should have been commended by his employer for being brave and risking his life to report a serious crime of immorality that involved high school kids, instead of being fired,” DCI shared while asking the man to visit their offices.
