Detectives have arrested two suspects in connection with brutal murder of a three-year-old boy whose lifeless body was found dumped at Mama Lucy hospital last month.
There has been a public outcry over the incident with Kenyans demanding justice to the boy’s mother and arrest of the perpetrators.
David and his six-year-old brother had been left under the care of Phylis Njeri, by their mother Maureen Njoki, who had left the country in November 2021 for Saudi Arabia, in search of greener pastures.
Nearly four months after her departure, Njoki received the devastating news of her son’s brutal killing.
Investigations revealed that baby David was murdered by Njeri and her husband Jackson Ngui as the woman’s horrified elder brother Peter Ndung’u watched in disbelief.
Ms Njeri was arrested at her hideout within Illasit village in Kajiado near the Kenya-Tanzania border.
Forensic analysis conducted at the couple’s house in Kwa Maji area within Mowlem, in Kamukunji, revealed that the baby was killed in the house before his body was dumped at hospital’s morgue.
The couple had desperately attempted to seek medication at local chemists before the boy succumbed.
The baby’s body had severe burns on both hands, legs and buttocks and fresh injuries on the neck, the back and the face.
The sleuths also recovered a whip that was allegedly used to assault the late boy’s elder brother who was warned not to reveal what had happened to his brother.
The two suspects will face murder charges.
