TOWN’S TALK
Some Isiolo residents are planning to sue the county government over alleged neglect of patients at the Referral Hospital.
Sources revealed that the move was prompted by last Thursday’s incident where motorbike accident victims stayed at the casualty for nearly one hour unattended to.
Reports indicate that some of those who witnessed the incident had already recorded statement with police.
Two of the patients, one bleeding profusely, were rushed to a private hospital in Isiolo town as there was no health worker to attend to them while the remaining pair waited for close to two hours before the workers arrived.
The hitches have been caused by ongoing two-week-old strike by casuals over unpaid pay for several months.
Services at the hospital could ground to a halt if the stalemate between casuals and the devolved government is not resolved within the shortest time.
There has been reports that payment would be done starting tomorrow (Monday) though unconfirmed reports indicate that some of the casuals could miss their pay for allegedly having been contracted through dubious means.
