An Isiolo MP aspirant is on the spot for allegedly ferrying supporters to Nairobi to attend a political party launch and later ‘abandoning’ them and refusing to pay their fare back.
The politician (name withheld) had promised to facilitate the group’s transport to and from Nairobi to attend the launch of Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s Devolution Empowerment Party alias Bus last weekend only to go missing after the event, leaving the team stranded.
The aspirant is said to have also promised them some money after the event
Some of the victims who spoke to The Press Point said the politician was unreachable after the event forcing them to seek alternative help.
Informed of the predicament, another politician offered to pay the youths fare back home.
“We were very disappointed. Had we not gotten the help from the other aspirant, majority of us would have spent the night in the streets,” one of the youths said.
