Two months after vanishing from Isiolo Police station for reportedly stealing Sh148, 00 cash bail paid by suspects released from the station cell, the outgoing Isiolo station OCS Fredrick Moses Odhiambo has been arrested.
Mr Odhiambo, who was due for transfer to Garissa, could not account for the money during the handing over exercise on November 6, 2020 and cunningly left the station before completion of the process prompting his immediate search.
Members of the public, on spotting him at Maili Nane in Meru a week ago, alerted Isiolo Sub-County Police Commander George Kariuki who dispatched officers from Kulamawe to arrest him.
The officer will be subjected to internal disciplinary action should he produce the money according to sources at the station.
Should internal conflict resolution fail, Mr Odhiambo will be charged with stealing by a person in public service.
“He will only be allowed to proceed with the transfer if he produces the money,” a source told the Press Point.
