Police in Kisumu are investigating circumstances that led to death of a Warder attached to Kodiaga Prison who committed suicide.
Reports indicate Prison Constable Fred Oganyo shot himself dead last night while on duty.
The officer, who was intoxicated, was at the barrier gate with a colleague when he turned his G3 rifle on himself.
The wife to the father of three had reportedly passed by the gate to ask for money to buy food before the incident occurred.
A police report made at Maseno Police Station revealed that the man told the wife to take care of the family and inform his mother that he would soon kill himself.
Sources revealed that the officer was stressed up due to family disputes though exact motive behind the incident is yet to be established.
