Seven students from Waso Secondary School in Isiolo were last week arrested for beating up a male teacher for unknown reasons.
It is reported that the teacher had punished another student before the seven and others ganged up and roughed him up forcing other teachers to report the incident at a nearby police post.
Students at the school who witnessed the incident said it took efforts of other teachers to salvage their wounded and subdued colleague.
While police, education officials and the school administration have kept the issue under the wraps, the students are likely to be charged with assault.
Violent cases among students have been on the rise since January when schools reopened after nine-month Coronavirus break.
