A principal of a school in Isiolo almost got fired over broken water pipes at the school.
The Garbatulla High School principal found himself in hot soup when government officials led by Public Works Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa visited the school last Thursday and found water leaking at the school in the semi-arid area.
Mr Kihalangwa was angered by the incident which he said should not happen at such an area where water is a challenge.
Further, the official was irked by a broken door at the school’s dining hall terming it as blatant negligence.
“This is not a village school,” the PS was heard saying before threatening the teacher. “Tungekuwa in a closed door meeting kuna kitu ingepita mbele yako,” translated to (You could have faced the music if we were in a closed door meeting).
Other officials who had accompanied the PS were left aghast as Isiolo county commissioner Herman Shambi at one point offered to close the leaking tank.
