Locals and families that lost their kins in the River Enziu bus tragedy early this month have demanded that the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (Kerra) makes public details of the construction of the killer bridge that led to the death of 32 people.
Through a letter dated December 8, the locals demanded legal action against Kerra officials who oversaw the bridge construction and the contractor assigned the responsibility for failing to fully execute their duty.
Through lawyer Eric Mutua, the locals also demanded that the process used to award the construction tender and amount of money paid to the contractors made public within seven days.
The victims died when a school bus they were in lost control and was swept away by the raging waters while they tried to cross on December 4 on their way to a wedding.
At least 10 people were rescued during the incident.
