Police in Ruring’u, Nyeri are holding a 26-year-old woman who stabbed his lover twice on the thigh over infidelity claims last Friday.
The woman stabbed Justus Gatua, who is fighting for his life at Nyeri Referral Hospital, with a kitchen knife outside their house before later attacking the boyfriend inside the house where he followed her after the first attack.
Irate neighbours who had earlier tried to separate the lovers almost lynched the woman before she was rescued by police officers.
The two had cohabited for the last two years according to neighbours who said they used to quarrel over the woman’s alleged promiscous behaviour.
The case is being investigated to establish the cause of the fighting before the suspect is arraigned on Monday.
