Three people have been arrested on suspicion of intending to bribe Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers overseeing recruitment exercise at Karisa Maitha grounds in Kilifi County.
The three, Ms Zingo Karisa, Mercy Chizi Nyale and Mr Kadenge Safari aged 47, 49 and 70 years respectively were spotted hanging around and on frisking them, the officers in charge recovered Sh600, 000 from the trio.
The money was stuffed in brown envelopes and police suspect that it was intended to bribe the military men.
The suspects have recorded statements with the police and will be arraigned upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
The Chief Defence Forces of Kenya General Robert Kibochi recently warned Kenyans against giving bribes while revealing that more than 20 soldiers had been charged for the vice.
General Kibochi then assured Kenyans of fairness and openness in the recruitment exercise that kicked on early this month.
