Kenya is the 30th hungriest nation in the world with more 600, 000 children facing malnutrition according to 2021 Global Hunger Index report.

About 23 percent of residents need urgent food intervention will 650, 000 children below five years requiring urgent treatment for malnutrition.

The situation, experts say, was occasioned by change in climate patterns, Covid-19 pandemic and conflict that has led to millions going for days without food.

The worst hit country is Somalia where more than half of the residents are in dire need of food aid according to the report.

The survey was carried out in 116 countries.
