Three people died and seven others were critically injured after a Matatu they were traveling was involved in an accident with a tractor along Webuye-Kitale highway.
Among the casualties is wife of former Sirisia MP John Munyasia, Janet Khaoya who boarded the public service vehicle in Kitale town and was to meet the husband in Bungoma town.
The three died on the spot while the rest suffered injuries on their chest, head and legs and were immediately rushed to Kitale County Referral Hospital.
The tractor was pulling a water bowser towards Webuye town when the Saturday night accident occurred.
The water bowser disengaged from the tractor while at the Matunda climbing lane and rolled backwards hitting the Matatu that was behind.
