A court in Nakuru has allowed the county government to start collecting seasonal levies from Public Service Vehicles.
This follows the lifting of orders stopping the Lee Kinyanjui led administration from collecting Sh2000 from the Matatu operators.
The county government and Matatu operators were last year embroiled in disagreement over the legitimacy of two different court orders issued by a court after a resident Daniel Kimani moved to court asking the Judiciary to help resolve the standoff.
The county government insisted that ejecting the operators was meant to stem the spread of Coronavirus and decongest the town.
The Nakuru County Assembly in mid-October passed a motion to allow the operators back in the town who a month later (November 18, 2020), forced their way back into the Central Business District.
