Meru County Assembly clerk Jacob Kirari is in trouble over controversial swearing in of four nominated MCAs against a court order issued days ago.
Activist Salesio Thuranira who last Wednesday got orders blocking the swearing of the four over discrimination on persons living with disabilities has sued the clerk for disregarding the directive.
Meru High Court Justice Edward Murithi had about 30 minutes before the MCAs inauguration exercise issued orders barring the four from taking the oath office.
Mr Thuranira says a court process server was blocked by sergeant-at-arms and police officers from accessing the assembly to serve the clerk with the orders ahead of the swearing in exercise.
According to the court process server Mr Joel Maitethia, the officers manning the entrance claimed that they were under strict instructions not to allow anyone in apart from the MCAs and the assembly staff.
The MCAs are Catherine Kamathi, Edith Makena, Benson Kiriinya and Kenneth Maingi.
The activist earlier maintained that the youths, who the four were nominated to represent, had enough representation in the House.
