Ruguti residents in Chuka Igambang’ombe, Tharaka Nithi were Sunday morning treated to rude shock after a 42-year-old man committed suicide over alleged wife’s infidelity.
Reports indicate that Josec Kimathi, a father of two who operated a barber shop in Itugururu market, had quarreled with the wife on Saturday morning prompting her to disappear from their home.
The deceased spent the entire day alone at the shop where he worked with the wife with efforts to reach her on phone unsuccessful.
The man would later that evening share the story with his mother and tell her that he was tired living with the wife.
His 10-year-old son would around midnight inform the grandmother that his father was threatening to take away his life, claims that she did not believe until the child returned for the second time crying.
The woman would immediately inform deceased’ brother who broke into his house only to find the man’s body dangling on the roof.
He revealed in a suicide note, that he left behind, that he decided to commit suicide due to his wife’s “unfaithfulness”.
Demanding that the note be read during his burial, the man ordered the wife to remain in the home and concentrate on raising their two kids and warned his family against intimidating her.
“I want to tell you that if I die it’s because of Mama Munene. But she should not be questioned or blamed by anyone over anything. She has made me suffer for sleeping around with other men,” the suicide note read in part.
Barber machines and a Television set, the deceased said, belonged to his son Munene.
“She remains my wife even while I am in the grave”.
The body was moved to Chuka County Referral Hospital morgue.
