More boys than girls are sitting Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in Isiolo with the county recording a 19 percent increase in number of candidates compared to last year’s (2020) exams.
Of this year’s 1701 candidates across the 31 countywide examination centres, 895 are boys and 806 girls.
More than 10 girls impregnated during the 2020 nine-month Covid-19 break sat for 2020 KCSE exams in Isiolo (last year) with reports indicating that this year’s number could be over 30.
Three girls sat just concluded KCPE exams while expectant.
Isiolo County Commissioner Geoffrey Omoding recently said men responsible for the pregnancies were being pursued to face the law.
Security has been intensified across all the exam centres to ensure the process goes on uninterrupted.
