Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan has sacked County Secretary Dr Ahmed Galgalo under unclear circumstances.
Through a letter dated August 26, 2022 the new county boss said Dr Galgalo would be replaced by county Lands Chief Officer Mr Yusuf Mohammed who will serve in acting capacity.
However, Dr Galgalo maintained that he wouldn’t vacate officer until he was served with a letter of dismissal saying sacking him through Executive Order No 1 of 2022 was un-procedural.
“I will not hand over the office until I am served with a letter that justifies reasons for my dismissal,” he maintained.
Dr Galgalo, whose contract was to expire in November this year, said the new governor had no mandate to sack him without proper reason.
He claimed that the county boss had expressed dissatisfaction with people who were invited for his inauguration ceremony at Isiolo Boys grounds accusing Dr Galgalo of inviting his political foes.
“The ceremony was for the people of Isiolo and so we invited everyone regardless of their political affiliations,” said Dr Galgalo.
