Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali has accused the detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of being ‘dramatic’ while searching his home Wednesday morning.
Speaking moments after he appeared at the EACC Upper Eastern Region EACC office, the county boss said the detectives should have done due diligence instead of resorting to unnecessary drama that allegedly left his family traumatized.
“They presented a search warrant to me but the dramatic procession from Marsabit to Isiolo was unnecessary. I could have confirmed the authenticity of the documents in Marsabit,” said Mr Ali.
The county boss called on the Anti-graft agency to exercise due diligence in undertaking probe while pledging to cooperate in the investigations.
“I am a leader and is always ready to cooperate with all the government agencies conducting any form of investigations. I cannot run away,” he noted.
Mr Ali’s wife, former Treasury CS Ukur Yattani were also arrested on Wednesday morning and processed at the integrity center in Nairobi.
