Police in Kisumu have been allowed to detain suspect in murder of Ida Odinga’s bodyguard Barrack Odour Onyango for 14 days to allow completion of investigations.
The suspect, Collins Okundi was arrested yesterday after presenting himself at a police station in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
The Azimio la Umoja Raila Odinga’s wife’s bodyguard was shot dead in a scuffle elicited by a love triangle Friday morning.
When the suspect appeared before Kisumu Senior Resident Magistrate Stella Telewa, police sought more time to among others analyse the firearm that the suspect used to commit the crime.
The court ordered that Mr Okundi undergo medical assessment while in custody ahead of mentioning of the case on November 11.
