Kakamega MCAs will pocket over Sh10million in the ongoing induction in Mombasa.

The ward reps will each receive Sh14,000 daily allowance while the assembly staff members will get a daily allowance of between Sh12,000 and Sh14,000 each depending on their job group.

Payment of facilitators hired to conduct the trainings and other logistical needs are expected to raise the expenses with Governor Fernandes Barasa decrying financial mismanagement in the assembly.

The governor warned against compromising the assembly’s oversight role but called for proper financial management in the house.

He maintained that it was unfortunate that house suffered arrears for their rented offices amounting to more than Sh15 million while also rent for the speaker’s residence had not been remitted for five years.

The county boss warned the ward reps and the assembly staff against taking part in graft cases maintaining that those involved would be subjected to the law to act as examples to the rest.
