Police in Kirinyaga have arrested a man who allegedly defiled a minor living with disability and impregnated her before going into hiding.
Police reports indicate that the 41-year-old used to lure the 16-year-old mentally challenged girl with some little money while on her way to school then commit the heinous act.
The minor’s teacher reported the matter after realizing the girl was expectant in April.
The teacher says she was forced to take care of her until she gave birth as the girl’s patents are also mentally handicapped.
Police officers from Kirinyaga Central Sub-County launched a manhunt for the suspect but managed to smoke him out of his hideout in Kaaria Village on Monday.
The suspect is currently being held at the police station awaiting arraignment upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
