Ford Kenya Leader and former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been elected the National Assembly Speaker taking over from Justin Muturi.
Mr Wetangula failed to secure round one win after garnering 214 votes against Kenneth Marende’s 130.
The former Speaker however withdrew from the second round contest in favour of Mr Wetangula who now becomes Kenya’s eighth Speaker.
The New Speaker has already been sworn in.
