A septuagenarian was yesterday arraigned for reportedly defiling a 14-year-old girl on diverse dates last month in Mjini slums, Bungoma town.
The suspect is said to have lured the girl from the neighbourhood into the indecent act with some money.
He pleaded not guilty before Bungoma High Court Judge CA Mutai and asked the court to release him due to his poor health saying he was not a flight risk.
The case came to the fore after the victim’s father found the daughter with some money that she revealed she got from the elderly man.
The court released the suspect on Sh120, 000 bond with mentioning and hearing of the case scheduled for September 14 and October 19 respectively.
