Six firearms have been recovered during patrols in Kambi Nyoka, Demo, Bubisa, Jaldesa and Shurr areas in Marsabit County.

The four Carbine rifles, one G3 rifle and AK-47, one magazine and 13 rounds of ammunition were received from Assistant chiefs of Bubisa, Demo and Shurr areas.

Jaldesa chief Ali Jirmo surrendered one Carbine rifle, one AK-47 with a magazine and 20 rounds of ammunition.

In the wake of Madaraka, Sagante chief Stephen Wario handed over one HK 21 machine gun with 78 belted rounds of ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with one magazine each and nine bullets.

The Operation Commander Bernard Mbatha commended the administrators for their unwavering support to the concerted efforts to weed out illegal weapons in the County.

He said the efforts were a step towards speedy restoration of peace and security in Marsabit.
