Isiolo North MP aspirant Mohammed Abdullahi popularly known as Medize Medize has accused Jubilee Party of favoritism in the recent nominations that he and incumbent MP Hassan Odha lost to former MP Joseph Samal.
Mr Medize, living with a disability, said announcement of Mr Samal as the nominee for the Parliamentary seat was done without adequate consultations among the three aspirants.
The aspirant said he had met Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni last week and was assured that the nominations will be free and fair.
“I am shocked that a party like Jubilee with national outlook can issue direct ticket to my opponent without consensus among all the aspirants,” he said.
He said he would escalate the issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Party secretariat.
“I will challenge the process because there was fairness at all,” Mr Medize said in a press briefing.
With minimal time left to May 2 deadline for candidates willing to vie as independents, the MP aspirant might not be at the ballot.
“Jubilee nominations in Isiolo were unfair,” he shared on his Facebook account Thursday.
Sources within his camp revealed that Medize had resolved to quit the race.
