Construction equipment worth millions have been burnt down by suspected Al-Shabaab militants at Budhey area near Boni forest in Lamu County.
Reports indicate that the equipment that include eight vehicles belong to China Communications Construction Company and were being used to construct Lamu-Ijara-Garissa road that is part of the ongoing LAPSSET project.
The incident happened on Sunday morning.
Manhunt for the militants have been launched.
