The Star of Hope Association (SOHA) has rolled out food distribution targeting 3000 drought-hit households in Wajir County.
Each of the beneficiaries will receive 10 kilograms maize flour, eight kilograms of rice and clothes donated by the Caravan of Mercy U.K.
SOHA Administrator General Sheikh Ahmed Sett said the donations are meant to cushion the affected residents against the harsh economic effects of Covid-19.
“We are planning to distribute the donations within the next four days as a way of ensuring needy and vulnerable families have something to eat,” said Mr Sett.
The organization has since the outbreak of Coronavirus distributed more than 250, 000 Kilograms of food, clothing, handwash and beddings to 27, 220 households and institutions in Isiolo, Wajir, Meru, Nyeri and Marsabit counties.
Mr Sett appealed to residents to share the little they have with the less fortunate who continue to reel from the ravaging effects of the drought and Covid-19.
He was accompanied by SOHA Organising Secretary Qari Abdul Razzaq.
