Police in Kirinyaga are holding a woman who reportedly stabbed to death her husband, an Assistant Chief, following a domestic tiff.
According to the witnesses, the 36-year-old Nyangeni Assistant Chief Dennis Magu picked a quarrel with the wife at around 9:00pm prompting the woman to pick a kitchen knife and stab him on the left side of his chest.
Neighbours who responded to distress calls from the victim found him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to Nuclear Medical clinic where he was pronounced death on arrival.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Githure Police post but was later transferred to Kianyaga Police Station where she is being held awaiting completion of the ongoing investigation.
According to Kirinyaga East Police Commander Anthony Wanjuu, the couple is suspected to have differed over money paid for coffee but police said ongoing probe will help establish what transpired before the incident.
