Police in Laikipia have launched a manhunt for a General Service Unit (GSU) officer who shot dead his colleague and went into hiding in a nearby conservancy.
Reports indicate that the officer attached to Miteta GSU camp unleashed terror on the victim following a heated disagreement and shot him on the head killing him on the spot.
According to Laikipia County police boss John Nyoike, the suspect also fired indiscriminately at the camp while fleeing to his hideout.
A contingent of officers has been deployed in the area to maintain calmness and also bring the culprit to book.
The body has been moved to Nyahururu County Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
