Three police officers who were arrested for aiding escape of serial killer Masten Wanjala, who was lynched on Friday morning, have been released on cash bail as investigations continue.
Detectives had on Thursday sought to continue holding Inspector Philip Mbithi and Constables Boniface Mutuma and Precious Mwinzi for 14 days to allow completion of probe before their arraignment.
The officers based at Jogoo Road Police Station are suspected to have aided late Wanjala in escaping as the door and window to his cell at the Police Station were intact.
Milimani Law Courts on Friday released the trio on a cash bail of Sh100, 000 each and granted sleuths seven days to finalize investigations.
