Three police officers who were on duty Tuesday night when a serial killer Masten Wanjala escaped from Jogoo Road Police Station have been arrested.
Mr Wanjala who earlier confessed to killing 10 children in Bungoma and Nairobi was to take plea today (October 13).
The police officers are suspected to have conspired with the suspect and helped him escape from police custody as the window and door to his cell was not broken.
It is either someone helped him escape or took him out of the cells for unknown reasons.
The officers are detained at Capitol Hill Police Station awaiting arraignment as investigations into what transpired continue.
Security organs have been asked to move with speed and rearrest the suspect as could cause more harm while roaming outside there.
“He should be arrested and charged. It is so unfortunate that a murder suspect would escape from a guarded cell and no one knows where he is,” Hassan Waqo shared on Facebook.
