Police in Dandora have gunned down a criminal believed to be part of a marauding gang that has been terrorising, attacking and robbing residents of their valuables at gunpoint.
Area-based detectives shot dead the suspect after receiving a distress call that a gang had attacked a woman at Harmony area in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Reports indicate two of his accomplices fled the scene with gunshot wounds following the fierce fire exchange with the sleuths.
The two criminals are said to have dived into a sewer channel and swum through the sludge towards Njiru area.
The officers managed to rescue the woman unhurt and escorted her home.
