Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has implored the former Eastern Province residents to unite and support his 2022 Presidential bid.
He regretted his dalliance with ODM Leader Raila Odinga, which he attributes to having lost proximity with the region he grew up in as a young boy.
The leader said that he was fully ready for the 2022 race and had come back home for backing.
“I have come here to invite you to take your position and secure the seat to lead this country,” Mr Kalonzo said during a visit hosted by Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki in Chuka Town last week.
Governor Njuki praised him for the vital role he played in launching government projects in the region while serving as President Mwai Kibaki’s Vice.
Musyoka took the opportunity to highlight some of the mega projects he facilitated during his tenure, including the Tana River Usueni Bridge that links Tharaka Nithi and Kitui Counties.
He also attributed free and compulsory primary education to his stint at the helm of the Ministry of Education during President Kibaki’s first term and also claimed to have contributed immensely to Constitution 2010.
Musyoka further urged the area politicians, especially MCAs, to join Wiper Party terming it the home party promising to offer direct tickets to first comers.
He announced that the party would establish an office in the county and others in the Eastern region to strengthen his influence.
