Chuka University Vice-Chancellor Erastus Njoka has assured that Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Chuka campus students will remain in the university until their premises under construction at Chuka County Referral Hospital are complete.
Addressing the medical students at the university, Prof Njoka dismissed as propaganda reports that he has plans to eject them.
“I have no plans to send you away. Those are just political propaganda being peddled by politicians,” Prof Njoka said.
However, the don said the KMTC students will continue sharing the building with Ndagani Primary School pupils who were moved in last month.
Prof Njoka said the Primary School pupils have been moved from their original buildings to allow construction of the university ultra-modern library.

The Press point learned that the KMTC students protested to their principal sharing of one building with the pupils but were asked to exercise tolerance.
The KMTC students have been using the building that they are now sharing with the young children since September 2015 when the campus was established amid claims that it was supposed to be at Marimanti Sub-County Hospital in Tharaka constituency.

A few weeks ago, Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki expressed fears that in case the university ejects the KMTC students from its premises, the students are likely to be moved to other campuses because the buildings at the referral facility are not complete.
He urged the VC to give him at least six months to complete the buildings.
The county boss said already there are plans to sub-divide the hospital land in order to allocate KMTC campus five acres.
