Eldas MCA Ibrahim Abass has passed on after a short illness.
Reports indicate that the ward representative died at Wajir International Airport while waiting to be evacuated to Nairobi for treatment on Sunday.
President Uhuru Kenyatta eulogized the legislator as a transformative leader who will be missed by Eldas residents and the country at large.
Wajir Governor Ahmed Muktar said the MCA will be remembered for his advocacy towards ensuring better services for Wajir residents adding that he was passionate of his work.
