The Isiolo County government has set aside Sh373 million in its Sh5.5 billion 2021/2022 budget for the ongoing multimillion mega projects in Isiolo town.
Governor Mohammed Kuti has allocated Sh135 million for the Sh545 million Isiolo town modern market that is expected to accommodate more than 1, 000 traders once completed.
Some Sh90 million has been set aside for the state-of-the-art stadium, which is half complete, that will nurture talents and encourage youths to embrace sports.
The county headquarters and county assembly chambers have been allocated Sh68 million and Sh80 million respectively.
A section of the MCAs recently blamed the late disbursement of monies for the delayed completion of the projects.
To boost peace and cohesion efforts, the county has allocated Sh40 million for the construction of three security posts across the county that will ensure timely response to insecurity cases.
