A village in Baringo has been thrown into mourning after a 23-year-old man said to have been intoxicated killed his elder brother and sister-in-law, who was expectant, over a land dispute.
Mr Alexander Kipchumba shot the two on their chest using poisoned arrows at their home in Katunoi village in Baringo Central.
The two were pronounced dead while receiving treatment at local health centres.
Scuffle ensued at a drinking spree when the suspect demanded his share of the land which the elder brother objected.
The drunk man reportedly took a bow and arrows from his brother’s house and mistakenly shot the sister-in-law while targeting his brother.
He would later, according to witnesses, pursue his brother and shoot him on the chest during the Monday incident.
The suspect fled towards Karbanet town where he was later arrested.
