Deputy President William Ruto has told off his boss Uhuru Kenyatta over claim that he was inciting Kenyans against the government that he is part of instead of providing solutions to challenges bedeviling citizens.
In a quick rejoinder, Dr Ruto accused President Kenyatta of sidelining him in running of the government and assigning other people his duties.
In reference to March 2018 handshake between Mr Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Odinga, the DP said the latter killed Jubilee Party, bangled Big Four Agenda and wasted their second term.
“Sorry my boss. I feel your pain. Those you assigned my responsibilities and project Mzee have let you down miserably…Wao ni bure kabisa (They are not useful at all),” DP Ruto shared.
The second-in-command further said he was available and just a phone call away.
The President, during Labour Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium, hit out at DP Ruto saying instead of advising him on how to better run the government, Dr Ruto was busy going to market places to incite Kenyans.
“Covid-19 was not brought by Kenyans or Uhuru. When prices of commodities go up and you tell Kenyans to ask Uhuru, Am I in Ukraine and was I in China when the pandemic struck?” seemingly irritated President posed.
He wondered why the Kenya Kwanza Presidential candidate could not resign and let him choose a deputy who will assist him better serve Kenyans saying he was no longer useful to his government.
“Instead of helping and advising me, you are busy shifting blames and calling you yourself a leader. You should have left to allow me pick someone who can help me deliver. We must tell each other the truth. Where were you when I needed your support?” he directed to DP Ruto.
The President said while he had differences with ODM Leader Raila Odinga, he came to his aid after discovering that Kenya was bigger than both of them.
“I thank Mzee (Raila) because though he had his problems, he came to assist me”.
Nyeri Arch Bishop Anthony Muheria during former President Mwai Kibaki’s send-off ceremony at Othaya Approved School grounds called for tolerance among politicians.
He asked politicians to emulate Mr Kibaki who he said never attacked his opponents during his political career.
“He never made a remark against his competitors. We need a special sanitizer to disinfect our toxic mouths,” he told mourners.
