Homabay’s Oriwo Boys High School whose 2021 KCSE exams results were withheld by Kenya National Examination Council over alleged exam irregularities will wait for 30 more days to know its fate.
More than 400 candidates who sat the exams at the school have until end of May to know whether their results will be processed or not.
“The findings of the ongoing investigations will be communicated in 30 days,” Knec CEO David Njengere said in a letter copied to Nyanza region director of Education and the County Education counterpart.
While releasing the results, Education CS George Magoha said results for 441 candidates had been cancelled over among others use of unauthorized materials, mobile phones, impersonation and creating disturbance.
The cases included 203 unauthorized materials, 223 seized mobile phones, eight impersonation, six collusion and one case of disturbance.
“Knec should not have any mercy on the examination offenders,” Prof Magoha said.
Oriwo Boys High School was among the most improved schools in 2020 KCSE exams.
