Two women were arrested transporting six sacks of bhang estimated to be worth millions of shillings from Busia towards Nairobi last evening.
Reports indicate that Ms Nancy Wangare and Caroline Mariwa had opted to use the long Nakuru-Nyahururu-Nyeri-Murang’a route to evade arrest.
Acting on a tip off from members of the public, detectives intercepted the two in a Toyota Wish KBS 156S at Saba Saba area after a serious chase.
The two are currently being detained awaiting their arraignment for narcotics trafficking charges.
Last week, a court in Wajir jailed for 50 years two men for trafficking bhang worth Sh21 million.
