The country has been thrown into a mourning mood following the passing on of Machakos Senator Boniface Kabaka and former Cooperative development Minister Joe Nyagah while undergoing treatment in Nairobi.

The legislator had been hospitalized at the ICU unit after collapsing at a restaurant while in the company of one Esther Nthenya.

He is said to have undergone surgery as detectives continue with probe on suspected alleged murder.

The minister passed on at 1pm while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

The Embu politician, who was was son of the late Jeremiah Nyagah, one of the ministers in Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s first cabinet, served in former president Daniel Moi’s government.

Mr Nyagah vied for the presidency in the 2017 elections as an independent candidate shortly after resigning as the Presidential advisor on regional integration.
