No Kenyan will be forced to take Covid-19 jab even as the Ministry of Health prepares to roll out mass vaccination in July this year.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, while issuing the State of the Pandemic address Tuesday, said Covid-19 vaccine uptake will entirely depend on one’s willingness and no one will be coerced to take the jab.
“No one will be forced to take the vaccine,” said President Kenyatta.
The Head of State also called for collective responsibility from the Interfaith Council and other stakeholders in conducting education concerning the vaccine.
According to the MOH reports, 1, 334, 749 people have been vaccinated against the disease out of which 1, 005,901 took first doses while only 328, 848 took their second doses.
Countrywide 10PM-4AM curfew has been extended for 60 more days.
