Eight people among them a child died in an accident involving a public service vehicle and a stationery tractor at Musembe area along Webuye-Eldoret highway in Kakamega County.
It is alleged that the driver of the 2NK owned Matatu was speeding when the vehicle lost control and rammed into the stationery vehicle killing the eight on spot on Sunday morning.
Among those who died in the accident is a top National Youth Service official who was headed to Nairobi.
Police have launched a manhaunt for the driver who went missing after the 5AM incident.
