Police in Kilgoris, Narok County are holding a couple who reportedly killed their eight-year-old daughter during a domestic fight at their Majengo home.
Reports indicate that an argument arose between 30-year-old Amos Maengwe and Esther Kaiseyi, 21, where the man while attempting to hit his wife with a blunt object missed the target and landed on the innocent girl.
The two tried saving their daughter’s life by rushing her to the nearby hospital for treatment after the 10 pm incident but it was rather too late.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Twitter said the two were assisted by police officers patrolling the area to take the injured girl to the hospital.
“The young girl, whose condition worsened on arrival at the hospital, died while receiving treatment,” reads part of the DCI report.
The two are likely to face murder charges upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
