Police in Murang’a are holding a man who reportedly vandalized a Sh2 million telecommunication equipment belonging to Safaricom company while pretending to be on a maintenance exercise.
Reports from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations revealed that Mr Lenny Ng’ang’a masquerading as an engineer pleaded with the guard at a Murang’a station to allow him access into the area.
The guard would later inform police officers who managed to arrive at the scene before the suspect had completed his mission.
The suspect was forced to jump through the fence resulting in a serious chase by the police.
He was arrested at Saba Saba area where he surrendered to the sleuths.
The police officers managed to recover the already destroyed equipment in his Suzuki KDB vehicle.
The suspect is set to be arraigned as investigations continue.
