Isiolo Huduma Centre where power disconnection has affected services. BETTY LUKE/PRESS POINT

Services at Isiolo Huduma Centre have been disrupted for the past few days due to power disconnection over alleged unpaid bills.

It is said the continued disconnection is over delayed payment of the bills with one of the government institutions that jointly pays the electricity bill with the Huduma Centre declining to do so.

Residents have been forced to incur extra changes for photocopy and printing services being done at nearby cyber cafes.

All electronic services at the centre are currently unavailable.

Residents who spoke to the press point said they were forced to incur extra costs in printing documents such as Letter of Good Conduct among others which is usually done at the centre.

Mr Hassan Ali said he was forced to travel to Meru County to register a group.

“We traveled to Meru to have our group registered as one of the officers told us she was not aware when the issue will be sorted,” Mr Ali said.

Contacted, Isiolo County Commissioner Herman Shambi said the problem was being handled and services will resume early next week.

“We are working to restore the issue,” Mr Shambi told the press point.
