Several questions have emerged following the incident where a man said to be a Kenya Defense Forces soldier was injured after the explosive device, that targeted a lady said to be an ex-girlfriend to the suspect who is still at loose, fell on his groin.
It is still not clear whether the explosive device targeted the woman or the ‘soldier’ and whether the two were seated on the same table while taking drinks.
The suspect is said to have hurled an explosive device at the woman while in an Isiolo town club in the wee hours of Tuesday morning that mistakenly landed on the victim injuring his genitals and legs.
It is suspected that the victim, whose genitalia were severely injured, might have been in the company of the lady who was the target.
Reports indicate that the suspect was on a revenge mission to the lady whom they broke up with three months ago.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the kind of explosive the assailant might have used in the incident and the motive of the attack.
Investigators are also yet to establish whether or not the assailant is a police officer and the victim a KDF officer both stationed in Isiolo.
Police sources told The Press Point that no one had recorded a statement as of Wednesday evening.
