Tharaka Nithi Government will collaborate with the University of Embu in the establishment of departments, curriculum and training modules for Itugururu Agricultural Training Institute.

Speaking during a meeting at the varsity on Thursday, Governor Muthomi Njuki and Vice-Chancellor Prof Daniel Mugendi said the partnership will go a long way in promoting agriculture in the region.

Prof Mugendi said agriculture experts from the university will help in the setting up of demonstration farms for the various value chains including dairy farming.

The two institutions will also share facilities for various academic activities.

“This partnership inked today will go a long way into enabling my government’s commitment to promoting agricultural knowledge,” said Governor Njuki.

The ultramodern Itugururu Agricultural Training Institute in Igambang’ombe sub-county is one of Governor Njuki’s flagship projects for his first term.

Under the leadership of Governor Njuki, agriculture sector has witnessed great achievement especially with programs such as the issuance of free assorted free certified seeds every rainy season and the subsidized Artificial Insemination system which has proven game-changers.
