It has been revealed that the former Marimanti ward MCA, Paul Mwabu Gk has never been formally appointed as Tharaka Nithi Government’s spokesperson.
The Press Point has established that the vocal GK Mwabu has just been a loyal supporter ‘Kaboorio’ of Governor Muthomi Njuki and only was only facilitated after attending the county chief’s meeting.
Surprisingly, Mwabu proudly referred to himself as Tharaka Nithi Government Spokes Person in public knowing very well that his importance was not beyond his parody against Njuki’s political adversaries that he conveniently conveyed using traditional songs and axioms.
The Press Point has also learnt that Chuka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Erastus Njoka who is angling to unseat Njuki in 2022 has been courting Mwabu for a long time promising better terms of engagement until recently when the ‘girl’ accepted an engagement ring on his finger.
On Thursday in Tharaka constituency, Mwabu publicly declared alighting from Njuki’s boat and boarding that of Prof Njoka which he believes will ‘deliver him to Canaan’.
Prof Njoka believes that Mwabu will convince the Tharaka community that he has nothing ill about the region and the latter’s yesterday’s speech is clear evidence that his main task is to cleanse the Professor off the tribal blotches.
Fortunately for Mwabu, the good professor seems ready to heavily invest on him depending on his commitment to the cleansing assignment.
Speaking during the function, Mwabu praised Njoka as having transformed Tharaka community through the Tharaka University College which is a constituent college of Chuka University.
“If helping Tharaka community amounts to hate, Prof Njoka should continue supporting us and no politician should intimidate him,” said Mwabu.
The main question is whether Mwabu will remain in Njoka’s camp with Senator Prof Kithure Kindiki contesting for the same seat.
Prof Kindiki is a force in Tharaka community and it requires balls to go against him which GK Mwabu doesn’t seem to have.
But though Mwabu has a little political impact in Tharaka, he will in the meantime make Prof Njoka’s meetings lively with his songs and aphorisms.
